Coping With Depression and Anxiety | Mental Health Week 2019

The reason why I’ve
dedicated my life, my passion, to talking about
mental health is because when I
was 12 years old, I really started struggling with anxiety and depression. I was in survival mode, went home, went to bed, I’d do it all again, just to kind of stay
on the surface and make sure that
I didn’t fall too deep. It was one teacher that stood out to me and asked me
how my day was. And little did I know, that was the teacher that I was going to
tell everything to, and I felt safe. And since then, my journey started in going to therapy and finding
support and help. But my biggest thing was being vulnerable and using my voice that I know everyone
has in them, to reach out and
ask for help. There’s a power in
vulnerability. There’s a power in
being vulnerable and telling someone
how you feel. And I really
encourage everyone to dig in and
use that community because that community
saved my life.
