Fatou Sarr – How our graduate students are tackling complex societal issues?

Hi my name is Fatou Sarr and I’m a
third-year experimental student here at the University of Ottawa. My PhD
specialty is cognitive psychology. Cognitive psychology is the study of all
of our mental abilities such as thinking, reasoning and learning. My thesis
research right now is on how our memory is affected by hidden patterns in the
environment around us. My research and the research in cognition is really
important for building new models of the mind in psychology. But also for new
fields like artificial intelligence and neuroscience. And with the endless
research opportunities as well as the new technology and cool conference trips
that I get to take, I really feel like this PhD is what I like to study here at
uOttawa.
