When to go to the ER with high blood pressure
High blood pressure is probably one of the most difficult things to decide when you want to go to the ER for, because there can be times when there are not a lot of signs and symptoms that indicate when you should be concerned. Certainly, we always tell people the same thing. If you have symptoms that are concerning to you, that’s the best time to get checked out. If you are checking your numbers and your numbers seem like they are dis-proportionally high, so if your top number is above 200 and your bottom number is over 100, if you feel like you are feeling weak or have chest pain, headache, those are times that you would definitely seek care in the emergency room. We usually then at that point will start a workup in the ER and kind of go from there.
