Will I have another heart attack? | Marie Young Psychologist
While it can feel like you’ve had so many changes, and it can feel very scary about what the future holds, and will this happen again and not knowing if it will happen again. We all like to be able to predict and control our lives, and there is no way of knowing. One of the things that I think is really important to remember is, before this happened, you were walking around with blocked arteries, and you had no idea – and now that this has happened, you’ve been into hospital, you’ve had the tests, everyone understands where your heart is at, and that this has happened. So now going forward, if you have any symptoms or anything you’re concerned about,
everyone can see that you’ve had this heart history, and they’re going to be on board with looking at, well could this be explained by something cardiac. The other thing is you’re on medications, and those medications are actively helping to reduce the chance, that this could happen again. So in many ways, you’re actually almost better off now, in some ways, than you were before, when you were walking around and you didn’t know the state of your arteries.
